A warming, rich and ultra-healthy cranberry cinnamon infusion.

I am so happy to be able to share my recipe for this mega -delicious and powerhouse-of-health infusion! I make it using cinnamon, anise, cranberries, elderberry and pomegranate. This blend of ingredients combine super well to make a flavourful, warming beverage with significant health benefits.


Much healthier and a great alternative to your evening glass of wine!


How to:


Ingredients:


1 cinnamon stick (preferably Ceylon cinnamon for a milder flavor)

2-3 star anise pods

1/2 cup dried or fresh cranberries

3-4 cups of water

3 tbsp Happy Hollows elderberry syrup (if you have it!)

3 tbsp pomegranate juice

Raw honey to taste


Instructions:


1. Boil the Water:

Bring 3-4 cups of water to a boil in a pot or kettle.


2. Add Dry Ingredients:

Add the cinnamon stick, star anise and cranberries to the boiling water.

Reduce the heat to a simmer.


3. Simmer and Add Pomegranate and elderberry syrup:

Simmer for 20-30 minutes, then add the pomegranate juice and elderberry syrup during the last 5 minutes.


4. Strain and Sweeten:

Let it cool slightly before stirring in raw honey (to preserve its beneficial enzymes).

Strain the infusion into a cups.


Serve hot as a comforting beverage or let it cool for a refreshing iced drink.
